Ever wondered what it’d be like to find your perfect mate by just waltzing into their workplace? Well, that’s exactly what this clever little stray did.
A Daring Entrance
Picture this: a scruffy 6-month-old pup, tired of rough street life, decides to change his stars. Where does he go? Straight into a U.S. naval base overseas. Talk about aiming high!
This gutsy move caught the eye of a Naval Commander. Now, you don’t see stray dogs strolling into military facilities every day, do you?
Love at First Sight
The Commander, a family man from Maryland, couldn’t resist. He scooped up the pup, later named Griffin, thinking of their motto: “Those who arrive alive, leave alive”. Seems like it applied to four-legged visitors too!
“A U.S. Naval Commander saw the little dog and immediately recognized he wouldn’t survive long alone in such a dangerous environment; scooping the pup up into his arms as he was reminded of his unit’s motto “Those who arrive alive, leave alive” and he knew it had to apply to this little soul too”, Paws Of War reported on their Facebook page.
From Stray to Star
Word spread like wildfire. Before you knew it, Griffin was the base’s unofficial mascot. Imagine a tiny pup melting the hearts of tough military personnel – that’s our Griffin for you!
The Homecoming
Here’s where it gets even better. The Commander couldn’t bear to leave Griffin behind. With help from Paws of War, a charity that provides service dogs to veterans, Griffin made the journey from the base to Maryland.
